TANZANITE FILTER FOR SALE – R360
The filter consists of three filters. Two polaroids and one coloured filter. The tanzanite when viewed under tungsten lighting through the one polaroid you will see a bluish colour and through the other filter a reddish violet colour. This is characteristic of tanzanite. Through the coloured filter, tanzanite will appear red. It is important to get the two different colours and the red colour for it to pass as tanzanite.
Get your Tanzanite Filter for only R360. This will assist in separating all the imitations from tanzanite, rough or cut. To place your order please send an email to email@example.com

NEW – VERIFICATION GEM IDENTIFICATION CARD – R60 per stone
This is a new service we have introduced to help cut down on the number of ‘run of the mill’ imitations being sold as natural. This service will be for tourmalines, except Paraiba or Cuprian, all the beryls except emerald, garnets, peridot and so many other straightforward gemstones. Emeralds, rubies, sapphire and the other more expensive gemstone need advanced testing so the price is the normal R310 per stone. Each card has a unique reference number that can be verified from your phone, iPad or computer.
Gem Identification of all Gemstones
Synthetic and artificially treated gemstones are passing through the trade undetected. A synthetic gemstone has the same chemical composition as the natural stone and is optically and physically the same. A gemmologist is the only person who can distinguish between the two by studying inter alia growth patterns and inclusions. Fee ranges from R250 per stone depending on the tests that have to be done to identify the stone. We do offer parcel discounts. The large passport size Gem ID with photograph starts from R310 per stone.
Mini credit card size gem ID report — From R310 per stone
Large passport size gem ID report — From R340 per stone
Certification of all Coloured Gemstones
Like a diamond, it’s easier to sell a certified coloured stone. This gives the buyer peace of mind that it has been checked and graded by a qualified gemmologist.

COLOURED STONE GRADING
We use the ICSL coloured stone grading system which has proved itself to be the most efficient and user-friendly coloured stone grading system since 1982. Many large laboratories around the world use this system. It is the most consistent system I have ever come across. Ian Campbell who developed the system introduced the FINAL GRADE which relates directly to price. For more information on this system click here

PRICE DEPENDS ON THE SPECIES OF GEMSTONE — Click here to download the 2018 Price list.
Loose gemstone appraisal — The stone has to be certified in order to calculate a value so the price is the certification price plus R50.

Forensic Type Work
The client may want to know why a stone broke or looks different. This is a scientific study and I believe only two of us offer this service in South Africa.
